The hermitage of Mare de Deu de la Roca is in the municipality of Mont-Roig del Camp, to the west of the town. The chapel is already mentioned in documents of 1230. The church and the guest house were rebuilt after the French destroyed it in 1811. Above this chapel stands the chapel of Sant Ramon, built in 1826 and still serves as a reference to seafarers
The hermitage is a symbol of the region. The church of San Ramon is part of the main building; it was a thirteenth century feudal castle with a white square appearance.
Next to the hermitage is a natural viewpoint that can be reached by a path through the rock, that starts in the park via a staircase with a wooden handrail. There are the openings of caves in the red sandstone.
The chapel offers panoramic views for the enjoyment of every visitor.
